Mission Statement
The Harvard-Radcliffe Caribbean Club was founded in 1978 by a group of Caribbean students who aimed to foster a space where students of Caribbean descent and appreciators of Caribbean culture alike could bring some of the Caribbean’s warmth to the cold city of Cambridge. Founded during a period of increased Caribbean immigration into the United States, the Harvard Caribbean Club provided community and a voice on campus for the growing number of Caribbean students.
Today, The Harvard Caribbean Club is made up of Caribbean international students, American-born students of Caribbean descent, and those who simply care to learn more about the small yet mighty region. Together, we celebrate our shared histories and traditions while also appreciating and learning about our differences. And together, we work toward our goal of promoting greater awareness of the people, affairs, and contributions of the Caribbean within our Harvard Community and any other spaces we enter.
